Forged Tomahawk

ABS Journeyman Smith Josh Lyle will instruct a 3 day class on making a tomahawk. The class will cover the following topics: selection of steel, forging, drifting the eye, heat treating and handle construction. The objective of the class is for each student to complete a tomahawk. Only 10 spaces available.

Cost: $252

Location: 3300 building

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 2 – 4, 8 am – 5 pm with 1 hr lunch each day

Leather Sheath

ABS Journeyman Smith Ken Hall will instruct a 2 day class on making a leather sheath for a medium sized fixed blade knife. The class will cover the following topics: leather selection, making a pattern, cutting leather, basic tooling, dying and hand stitching. The objective of the class is for each student to complete a sheath for one of their knives. Students must bring a completed knife to make a sheath for.

Cost: $190

Location: 3300 building

Friday – Saturday, December 7 – 8, 8 am – 5 pm with 1/2 hr lunch each day

Friction Folder

ABS Master Smith Andrew Meer will instruct a 3 day class on making a friction folder. The class will cover the following topics: material selection, blade and handle design, construction, techniques of proper fit and finishing. The objective of this class is for each student to complete a friction folder. Only 10 spaces available.
