Beginning Jewelry Fabrication 2

June 11, 2019

Beginning Jewelry Fabrication 2

No prerequisite

Tuesday Nights, 6-9 pm

This 10-week course is a continuation of Beginning Jewelry Fabrication 1. Students will continue to work in two-dimensional construction and will also design and fabricate pieces focused on soldering jump rings and butt joints. In order to master these types of soldering processes, students will design and make a chain necklace with a thoughtfully designed clasp or fastener, and will fabricate a piece of jewelry using the Marriage of Metals technique. If there is time, students can also work on a set of stacking rings or a band ring. We will continue to learn the basics of sawing, sanding, filing, and constructing findings as needed for the pieces we fabricate. Students will finish at least two projects including a handmade chain and a Marriage of Metals project. Instructor: Greta Lutman
