Blacksmithing for Jewelers – Hammer and Heat

Get creative with an inexpensive material you can get at the scrapyard! Learn the basics of blacksmithing and see how far you can take it. Techniques covered in this course will include forging tapers, upsetting, bending, scrolling, splitting and torch welding steel. The scale of these techniques can be enlarged or decreased to meet the needs for your artistic expression.

Students will leave with an understanding of the basics of blacksmithing, complete with samples of techniques to take home and apply to their own work.

CSP 4000 16375: 3 days, Su 5/22- Tu 5/24, 10a- 6p. Register by 5/6.
