History of Poster Design

December 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

History of Poster Design

From political to promotional, posters have informed and entertained audiences since the invention of lithography over one and a half centuries ago. In this course, we will examine the components of a “poster”: the design, illustration, typography, and modes of printing throughout history, starting with the invention of lithography up to the digital age of modernity. The time periods in which they were printed and distributed have played a role in shaping human history. Instructor: Lauren Medford
