Introduction to Painting: Acrylics: This course will introduce each student to the joys of painting! In this course students will learn the basics of painting with acrylic paints. Color theory, mixing and blending color and perspective will all be covered in this intro class. Instructor: Karen Danielson

Supply List:

Soft lead pencil 2B-6B.  Eraser. Sketch pad, journal,size is personal preference.

Palette. White Ceramic Plate, white enamel butcher tray or white plastic dish.

Palette Knife.

Acrylic Paint Colors: titanium white, cadmium red medium, cadmium yellow medium, pthalo blue, ultramarine blue, burnt umber and yellow ochre.

Brushes: a combination of both round and flat inexpensive synthetic bristle brushes.  #2, #5, and or #10 of both will be great. (numbers do not have to match exactly, example/get closest to a 10 by getting an 8 or 12…whichever you feel more comfortable with)

Large Jar or Plastic Yogurt container for Water to rinse brushes in.

Beginning Painting Canvases:  two 9 x 12 and two 11x 14
