Self Portrait-Drawing

Working from the most affordable model money can buy – yourself, students will explore the self-portrait as a subject not only of structure and anatomy of the human head but as an investigation into personal expression as well. In this class students will consider the self-portrait in both a historical and personal context while seeking solutions to the problems of depicting the human head in 2-D. Subjects covered will include anatomy of the human head, range of facial expression, light and shadow, composition, materials and more.
