Strings Class 2
Students must be placed into this course by either having completed String Class 1 or by preparing a piece. Violin, viola, cello, and double bass are all welcome in this class. During this session, we will continue the physical & theoretical music skills from String Class 1, but the goal will be focused more on playing as an ensemble, going much deeper into performance studies. On week 2, I will be presenting a few practice pieces separate from our books that we will work on as a group and perform at the end of the course! Bring your bow to string and let’s begin! Strings Class 1 is for students with little to no strings experience! During this course, you will learn proper instrument position and finger placement in addition to plucking and bow articulation. Violin, viola, cello, and double bass are welcome. Together we will learn basic concepts such as ear-training exercises, scales and classical and folk tunes. Students will also learn take-home practice techniques, as well as some ensemble and performance techniques in a fun and comfortable environment. Bring your bow to string, and let’s begin!
