Due to recent events in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19) we are taking precautions and have suspended upcoming Continuing Education Creative Art classes. Courses have NOT been canceled, they are simply being rescheduled. We encourage you to visit this webpage daily for upcoming class dates.

Woodworking on a Budget 2
Throughout this course, students will garner a strong understanding of basic hand held power tools, as well as expand their abilities with hand tools, while they work to craft a fine side table. Fiber Special Studies Workshop is a full day workshop for those that wish to focus on current ongoing projects in their fiber studies at HCC under Amy Putansu. The course is an opportunity for current HCC students that have unfinished or fiber projects that need additional attention in the Creative Arts Building. The 1 day workshop is for those that desire to add the finishing touches in their work as well as receive fine art critique from fellow students and the instructor. Instructor: Amy Putansu.

Jazz Guitar 1
This course offers jazz harmonic and improvisational concepts, accompaniment, and how to play in various jazz settings such as “jams” and “gigs” and sub-genres such as swing, latin jazz, bebop, and others. This class would be enjoyable for intermediate to advanced guitarists interested in learning jazz, applying jazz concepts to other styles, and/or interested in performing beyond the classroom.

Thread and needle are the starting point for this class. No experience required. We will cover basic embroidery stitches, styles and types of needlework and how to select appropriate needles, thread and material. All of these building blocks can be used for decorative work or for mending your household textiles. You will have the opportunity to create a set of samples and work on a personal mending project (this could be any household or wearable textile). Instructor: Deanna Lynch
