HCC Continuing Education Creative Arts Welcomes Alicia O’Dell!

Please extend a hearty hello to new instructor Alicia O’Dell. Alicia will be teaching intro and intermediate jewelry classes.
Alicia O’Dell has been making jewelry for 15 years, learning how to make her first pair of earrings as a teenager. This moment ignited a creative passion to create and learn! She has studied and taught metalwork/jewelry design in Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Western North Carolina and alongside metalsmiths and artists in South America and Africa while serving in the Peace Corps. Alicia loves the opportunity to share and help others connect with their creative energy.

Alicia is honored to be a part of Haywood Creative Arts Continuing Education program. This fall she will be offering two 10-week courses, Beginning Jewelry Fabrication and Put A Ring On It: Intermediate Jewelry Fabrication. Beginning Jewelry Fabrication introduces foundational metalsmithing skills and basic elements of jewelry design through 5 unique projects. All are welcome and no prior skill is needed. Put A Ring On It: Intermediate Jewelry Fabrication course will focusing more on jewelry design through 7 ring projects. This course is for students with basic jewelry skills who are interested in exploring design and finding their own creative voice.
